Jesus talking at the phone, 'hidden' in some streamed news from the television. In most Western Culture references to Jesus is connected to people being religious. Is it acceptable to use some of the wise words from e.g. The Bible in a daily life context without being looked upon as or at all being a believer?

The news aboout the Pakistan ex- primeminister beeing housearrested. Several still images is beeing put on top of one and eachother, like the news itself. Still not knowing what is the real truth of this news!

No more Killings.

2009. Emergency Room, Napoli, Palazzo del Arti di Napoli. Drawing on newspaper. About killings at that time (spring 2009) in Ireland, and Germany, Denmark. Making the point that we are all a part of the 'game' - not the killings directly, but indirectly we still have a responsibility. It is difficult to just "blame" some for something which touches the society all through! A picture from the todays news, showing people standing + one holding a newspaper, with the text: Stop the Killings. The veins of an old ladies hand are painted red, symbolizing the blood we all have, or has she blood on her hands? Who's blood is it anyway? Who is killing who anyway?

It's Not a Question Of Freedom Of Speech

The whole Muhammed Drawings episode is still not a question of freedom of speech! The piece uses the freedom of speech itself - like the pipe of Magritte saying “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” (This is not a pipe).

Here Comes The Sun....

Arranged and curated by Raketa and Frank Franzen.The weather forecast illustrates sun for a week on a blue sky - too hot weather for the season. The sun has changed character. Here it is represented as a black sun - a black hole or like a melanoma caused by the sun. The FN Climate Report is attached as text on the back side.

Hostages

2007. Photoprint. Emergency Room at Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens. By following the news about the South Korean hostages in Afghanistan in September 2007, one in the end feels like being a hostage of the news itself...It is like one never get to know the real story and your worries, empathy and thoughts are wasted. Very often when one follows stories in the news you end up getting different messages. This image shows the different layers of the news presenting the story.

MISSING_WANTED_ALTER

2007. Video still in loop showed on a monitor (no sound). Exhibited at Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens. The medias are creating icons which are being printed on our retina! In this piece two main icons from the todays news are being displayed on the modern alter - the television! Is the one really lost or/and has the other been found? The medias makes us think of, care about or even frighten by someone we havn’t met and might never meet! The icons gets a strange status through the medias and moves into our daily lives through this modern alter!
